oh my god i've been in the library for five an a half hours now... but i do know just about everything there is to know about the split in the Palestinian government, and about the Buddhist approach to happiness! holy wow!

so basically i've really cut down on drinking for the rest of the year... i don't have much money left to spend, and i figure my body wouldn't mind, especially after singapore and vancouver. its been weeks since i've had any alcohol, i'm so totally AA

there's three weeks left in the year, and it's gonna whoop a llama's ass with a belt. but i figure, the more i work, the faster time will pass, the better my grades might be, and the more relieving summer will be.. especially since cayley's coming to new york for ten days! :D

also it's my sister's birthday today, and i was all ready to go do the whole checkout deal on amazon, and i realized i don't have her address. i might have it somewhere in my room, but this is a problem hahah needs more parents already. i also realized that its really hard to keep track of siblings... like, i know she loves reading and music, but i have no idea what she owns, or what she's read, or what she would absolutely hate... that's also because i don't really read, but shut up okay? anyways, if anyone has any good ideas in the next few hours, it would be appreciated! otherwise she's getting a sweet sweet gift certificate

wah lau... so the past two weeks have seriously been the best two weeks ever... it started out with arriving in vancouver, and seeing cayley first thing after clearing customs and whatnot!! it was amazing, like whoaaa... starting then, it was like two weeks of nonstop amazingness... from the granville market and kids store, to an infamous dance party, to singing with homeless guys, to seeing all kinds of people from SAS, to doing sudokus and reading "the kite runner" in class, to tim hortons and koya and poutine and sushi and mcdonalds and indian food, to robson and granville street, to david gray, to hot hot heat, to the king's head pub on the last night, and every single minute in between (mostly spent in haida), it was the most amazing trip ever... like whoa!

in one word: gongshow.

i didn't get any pictures, but cayley did!! they probably depict the trip pretty accurately hahah crazy times. and i also got to see olivia and rusty again, and i got to meet everyone who i had kinda known through facebook, and who were all members of my facebook fan club, and they're all amazing and fun and i want to be back there so bad... i feel bad talking about vancouver to anyone here, especially since their trips pretty much consisted of sitting around at home...

anywho, i can't wait to go back to vancouver, cause i will for sure, hopefully soon!! needs more already... i miss cayley way too much, and it sucks being back when i just wanna go back, and i have to wait at least a month and a half before being with her again... especially after being together 24/7, and not even getting sick of her for a minute, being away sucks... uugghgh

maybe i'll steal pictures and post them later?

soo i've put off most of my work till the last day at college, go david! by david, i mean idiot. but its not so bad, i got a lot done! first, i had to rearrange my room cause i might get a roommate next semester, and i spent all morning cleaning my shit off of his side. then i worked on an essay, but stopped to do last-minute present shopping.

the best part was when i waited for half an hour in the freezing cold for my cab that supposedly came and left while i was standing outside... so i called the cab company again, and they sent another cab. except i think it was the same cabbie who had "come to get me" before, cause he was kind of being a jackass. for example, he didnt turn any lights on when i was trying to pay him, trying to read the bills i was giving him was hellish.

however, i got upstairs and proceeded to start my work when peter calls me up and tells me we're playing risk. i figure i can fit it in, so i drank a few frappucinos during the game and now i'm working! also, its 11:30 and i'm really hungry and i realized its because i didnt eat dinner yet. equals easy mac party!

yay i still have to pack and finish the essay, but thats okay cause i'll be up all night anyways! good times indeed!

this weekend was most excellent, i went to my brother's apartment in the city for thanksgiving, where i ate turkey and drank wine every night. his roommate kate cooked us a full dinner, with stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, all the shenanigans... we also ended up playing a lot of board games too, mostly while tipsy. boggle is not fun when you're tipsy. or playing with smart people who know words.

my parents wanted to buy my brother a new tv for christmas, so at first they told my sister (who also lives in the city) to take him to circuit city to pick out a tv. apparently he didn't want a new tv, so he just told my sister to forget about it, and he called my parents to tell them that he didn't need something that expensive. but my parents kept insisting on getting a tv (chock full of vhs and dvd players!!) for him... my sister couldn't take the tv up to his apartment by herself. alas, once i got to new york, our first order of business was buying a tv

transporting a tv in new york, apparently, is a bitch. and when you build the video cassette and dvd players right into it, the tv gains about sixty pounds in the front half. so here we were, trying to carry a tv across broadway, since the cab driver let us off across the street. we had to take constant breaks on the sidewalk. we, as in mostly me, cause i had to carry the front. we finally got to my sister's dorm (because my brother was taking someone to the airport, which makes for a good "surprise") and we could hardly fit the box through any doorways. we got a number of stares from crazy women-students. the kind of "what the hell" stare though.

when my brother finally showed up with his car, thank god, we couldn't even fit the thing in the trunk, back seat, or front seat. we ended up taking the tv out of the box and styrofoam and everything right on the sidewalk and fitting it in the backseat, with my sister sitting there making sure it was secure. but it was worth it, as we later sat in front of the tv and did nothing at all

the rest of the weekend was spent drinking wine and getting lots of sleep... not a bad weekend, i must say. also, i miss being in the city, i can't wait for christmas vacation. i think i'll be able to spend a night there before i fly back to singapore, which i really really can't wait for. like whoa. less than a month till i get to go back! and i might be able to spend an extra week with cayley, but thats a whole different can of worms. aka story.

so today in chemistry, since it was halloween, my professor passed a huge bowl of candy around. it came around to me twice, and my row cleared the bowl pretty nicely... but it got so much better! there wasn't too much to do today, so we just got to sit and watch the professor freeze all kinds of shit in liquid nitrogen. what shit, you ask? there were grapes, flowers, balloons, candy bars... for the grand finale, she tried to hammer a nail into wood with a frozen banana.

basically, my classes are cooler than yours.

yeah thats not true, some of my classes suck too. last week i got back a paper that i got a D- on cause i had no idea what the assignment was actually about... the topic was so abstract, but the expectations were so specific, it was ridiculous. and so many other people did uber shitty on them. the worst part is that it's 25% of the grade. whoops.

on a lighter note, i went to a concert on thursday that was a bunch of school bands (a la paufest!) and was asked to drum for an all-asian band called "asian flush." i hope it works out haha no matter what kind of music we play, it will be awesome. cause we're a bunch of asian people. we can even suck and people will say, "holy shit, are they all asian?" "yes, yes they are." oh, and its fun because everyone here is white.

why do i love college? basically because i can waste valuable time. last night, instead of doing work, i played four-player mario tennis for a full hour and a half. other fun activities include watching super troopers, taking extensively long naps, and taking down my closet door to use as a table.

also because i can write essays about why the middle finger is offensive, and why certain words offend black people. and gay people. yay!

ooh the other night i had a dream that i was eating a double cheeseburger, curly fries, and a chocolate milkshake. no shit. so tonight, dinner is wendy's drive-thru!! good times!

yeah. so new england weather? sucks. it's gonna be raining the rest of the week, and it's freezing as hell out there.

but the colder it is outside, the nicer it is to be inside... which is where i am right now!! and they turned the heaters on yesterday, so it's nice and warm now. plus, sweatshirts are nice. and i get to wear pajamas to dinner. with boots! you know its hot!

so yesterday i went to the dining hall a few minutes before they closed. since the food was going to be put away really soon, i decided to get twice as much food as i usually would eat, since i couldn't go back for seconds.

i finished the food. it was turkey dinner. and it was delicious!

so this is basically the past couple weeks...

this is me. we picked up some cute tumblers at wal-mart for real cheap. fun!

on a night of drinking, some of us found a broom in the hallway. we call it the "party broom," and it makes its appearance upon the presence of alcohol

and i think i'm playing wiffleball in about ten minutes with some guys from the next dorm haha its the most physical activity i've done in weeks.

so i'm in college now... it reminds me a lot of harry potter! the dorms are divided into their regions on campus (north, central 1, central 2, and south), and i live in the "dirty south" haha and apparently there's a lot of house pride and some rivalry... like, last night we had this spirit competition, where each place had to make up a cheer and everything, and we totally won and were rewarded points! totally hogwarts... and instead of the house cup i think we get a beach party or something... good times!

yeah so i think i'm gonna go look for food now... anyone who reads this (god bless your souls, you've just wasted a precious few minutes) better email me!!

so i'm in new york now wheeee but there should be more to do... i got my learner permit yesterday, so i get to take the five hour defensive driving course this week. i'm pumped. not much has been happening here... i had some excellent filet mignon on saturday. sunday i was supposed to go to the city for lunch with my brother, but excellent filet mignon made me sick. so i get to go to the city over the weekend :D or maybe i just ate too much. i hope so, i would hate to hate steak i can't wait to get back to singapore. i'm sorry, this post is pointless... but so are all my other ones, so it's all good!
